An amazing experience to get up and close to the mountains before my trek. It’s a bit of a gamble with the weather but we were really lucky and had some amazing visibility of Everest and the mountain range. Everything was very smooth sailing, the pickup, straight through airport security and checkin – no waiting around the airport. The flight attendants were fantastic and very attentive, made sure everyone knew exactly what mountains we were flying past.
There’s a big IF involved. No one’s fault. Due to the altitude, the weather can be precarious, meaning in rainfall or clouds, preventing the trip. Day 1 we made it to the plane, but then cancelled due to the weather. Day 2, it was raining, so they were about to cancel. At the last minute, the clouds parted allowing us to fly! The view is spectacular! The airlines, Yeti Airlines, was great and the attendants were kind and helpful. Even as we flew, the weather started changing, little by little covering Everest, but we got enough of a view to make the trip worth it. From hotel to airport, airport to plane and back, the trip was seamless and well worth it…. IF!
