Caye Caulker: 7-Stop Snorkeling in the Belize Barrier Reef Reviews

We went with a group of six and our guides Salam and Rahim. They were pretty nice/funny and cared for us. Got us the adequate equipment, provided us with food/water/information along the way and made pictures with their go pro. We stopped at serveral spots to spend a good amount of time in the water seeing manatees, rays, nurse sharks, sea turtles and a lot of other fish and corals. Definitely recommend to wear a shirt in the water or/and regularly apply sunscreen though! Got the worst sunburn in the water and even a little sun poisoning.

The morning briefing was great. We were relieved as vegetarians that they had accommodated this and it wasn’t an issue. Salam, the captain, was fantastic. He wanted to ensure we didn’t negatively impact the ocean so we didn’t swim with the manatees as the manatee had just had a baby. When snorkelling, they took my husband’s needs into account who isn’t a strong swimmer. We saw nurse sharks, one eagle ray, a turtle and plenty of beautiful fish and coral. It would have been nice to see more as I believe when they split the group into two, the other half saw more than we did but it’s okay. The 2nd leader was Gerral. It was his first day however he had amazing knowledge about marine life. My only advice is for him to be less sarcastic & understand that people are there on holiday and want to take photos. A bit of maturity and growth will do wonders. I would also recommend disregarding the shipwreck. It’s done first and is very choppy which isn’t good for those with sea sickness.
