An excellent way to travel around Cape Town and see the sights. There were plenty of buses which you can join anywhere around the 2 routes. I never had to wait long and the stops were in really interesting places. The staff were really helpful. The walking tour was also excellent that comes with the ticket. It is a really cheap way to sight see and as a solo traveller I felt completely safe.
We got a taxi from our hotel to the cableway entrance as were in Newlands and the bus route journey was out of reach. You have to wait in a queue which lasted about 30 minutes – the cable ride takes about 5 minutes to get to the top of the mountain – they do have free guides but at specific times. We explored the top of the Table Mountain by walking as far as we could go. You can see the Lions head (mountain/hill) clearly. We were lucky it was not a cloudy day and got to see beautiful views from the top. Wear comfortable shoes.
